The Course Description, as given in the college catalog is as follows:


MATH 90—INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA FOR STEM MAJORS 5 UNITS

90 Lecture Hours

Formerly listed as: MATH 90: Intermediate Algebra

Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of MATH 30 (formerly MATH 70) or qualification by the MJC assessment process. Equivalent to second year high school algebra. Topics include linear, quadratic, exponential and logarithmic functions and equations; complex numbers; solving systems of equations using substitution, matrices and determinants; conic sections; transformations; sequences, series and combinatorics. Field trips are not required. Not repeatable. (A-F or P/NP) Transfer: (CC: MATH 104) General Education: (MJC-GE: D2)

The Course Learning Outcomes are as follows:

Students successfully completing MATH 90 will be able to:
-succeed in a transfer level math course.
-demonstrate understanding of functions and relations.
-demonstrate proficiency with multivariate systems
