MATH AND PIZZA
These workshops are aimed at students in Math 70, math 89 and Math 90. And, yes, there is FREE pizza available!! We meet at the West Campus Library and Learning Center in Yosemite Hall room 235. These will be held on Thursday, once a month, from 3:00 to 4:00. During the fall semester the workshops will focus on word problems. Look for posters around campus that look like the image below.
MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING SEMINARS
This series of workshops is for those who wish to strengthen their creativity and problem solving skills, who enjoy puzzles and who would like to see a different side of mathematics. It is appropriate for students at or above the Math 90 (Algebra II) level. Participants will learn strategies and tactics for solving a variety of problems. This seminar also serves as training for MJC's math tutors, but it is open to EVERYONE who is interested, whether you are even taking a math class or not! We meet every other Thursday from 3:00 to 4:30 in Founders Hall room 151.
