Information for TEST 4 for SPRING 2018:

Simply use the study guide and previous TEST 4 given below.  We have now "caught up with ourselves," so they are a match.  Please note that on my former test I did not include any questions from 7.1 on function notation.  On your test you should expect problems involving f(x), which you will notice IS mentioned on the study guide.

Please note that these are resources I have posted over the years, and that this class, Beginning Algebra, has recently changed to being named Math 30 from being named Math 70, so don't worry if you see Math 70 as a heading on these documents.

Math 30 Study Guides:

Study Guide for Test 1 (updated for Spring 2018)

Study Guide for Test 2 (updated for Spring 2018)

Study Guide for Test 3 (updated for Spring 2018)

Study Guide for Test 4 (sections 5.8, 7.1, 6.1-6.7, 10.1-10.6)

Previously Given Math 30 Tests:

Please note that these are merely tests I have given in the past.  Since I am the same instructor, and we are using the same textbook, it is likely that your test will be similar, but it will certainly not be identical and may even be structured quite differently.  Realize that each semester has holidays falling on different dates, so the material may be broken up slightly differently.  As well as using these tests, be sure to use your book to review the sections we have studied in class THIS semester.

Math 30 Study Materials from 2013

PLEASE NOTE: Fall 2015 has a different edition of the textbook than when I last taught Math 70, so I do not have copies of old tests from this current edition.  Here are some practice tests from 2013.  They should still be of help as you study for your tests this semester.  Some are blank tests with separate answers, and some are copies of answer keys for tests I've given in the past.  Please review your study guide for this semester (above) for tips on what to study and how to use the materials below.

Previously given Test 3 (Fall 2015)

Previously given Test 3 (Fall 2010)

PLEASE NOTE: The answers below are to a "practice test" that I no longer have a blank copy of to post.  One way to use these is to look at the problem, cover the work and answer, and then check when you've completed the problem.  I do not have a key for the test above.  If you'd like to use it to study feel free to ask me any and all questions during our review day the day before the test.

Answers to Practice Test 3: p1 p2 p3 p4 p5 p6 p7

KEY TO TEST 3 (Form A) p1, p2, p3, p4, p5

KEY TO TEST 3 (Form B) p1, p2, p3, p4, p5 - A computer glitch is not allowing me to post the rest of the pages of this form of the test.

NEWLY POSTED: Most recently given version: TEST 4 Fall 2015

(Here are other TEST FOURS that I have given in other semesters, but the material might be broken up a little differently - still, you can use them for additional practice problems; just look for the problems that match the test above and the study guide at the top of the page: Previously given TEST 4 on Rationals and Radicals from Spring 2011 and Practice Test from Bittinger Text (for this test focus on #1-12 and 16-30 - WOW my tests used to be a LOT longer than they are now!).
